I am saving this, printing this, and will read it to my children, as they grow older, I will fill them in the meanings. What a great story!

Believe it or not, it actually happened in real life.

why do tree hugging trust fund babies think they have the right to do whatever they want?

I probably will be flamed by some Libs, or more likely zotted by the administrator for saying this, but:

Enviros abuse people for the same reason a dog licks its a**. Because it can.

Thanks to my old college friend who brought that one back from his flying days in Nam.

A Community's gift of respect and love.

Dave Jenest is just one of many California resident activists whose heart will be in Florida when the Sawgrass Convoy arrives even though they could not make the trip themselves. He told rally participants he planned to send a "dignitary" from their own neighborhood to represent Sacramento, California's capitol city.

Fearless Farmer Fred, (right) handcrafted by "the kids from the hood", was handed over to Klamath Falls Bucket Brigade member Rocky Dipple (middle) by Dave (left) with a pledge and a handshake. Farmer Fred will find a new plot of land and family in Florida as the Ambassador of Good Will from California's Farms, Ranches and private property owners.

Great story,

It should make a series.

Get Charlton Heston to read for books on audio

"He's [Fred] arm and arm with Fran!"

WOW... priceless... thank you.

Most of the kids in the hood who were part of Fred's creation have moved elsewhere. But I have six classrooms full of great kids who will have this story in their teacher's hands by week's end. Perhaps we could have someone from the Earth Keepers to speak with them.

We also have a local radio personality here in Sacramento named Farmer Fred who does a gardening/farm show every Sunday, 10 a.m. till noon. He'll get the story too. Gosh... what a saga of some great people who gave so much of themselves then and now.

Can you (or someone) fill me in a bit more on Jack Tompkins? This thread was emailed to me by a person who lives in South Florida "down the road from where the Sawgrass Rebellion was held." Much appreciated, Dave
