"It's a great day for the church," the Reverend Sandye Wilson, of the Minnesota Diocese, said. "This is a church which has finally understood that men and women created in the vision of God can be the guardians of the faith - and be gay or lesbian."
The above passage sounds like a Hillary campaign slogan.

Ichabod is being painted over their doors as we speak!

Isn't it great that these so-called "Turd Worlders" (according to many paleos on FR) are now more doctrinally sound than most mainstream Western churches? Maybe someday (if we're lucky) they'll send their missionaries to save us.

Excuse me for not knowing, but who or what is Ichabod.
JMO, but the Episcopalians are now unitarians.

There are several foreign evangelical church organizations which already send their missionaries here.
My aunt is a charismatic missionary, and travels to africa and India quite often, and what they tell her is that they're praying for the church in the USA.

Ichabod is a Hebrew word that means "Where is the Glory," a reference to an Israelite who was given that name after the Philistines captured the Ark of Covenant.

How very sad, the church of C. S. Lewis, how sad.... That's been one of my most frequent thoughts through all this. Gay? How about the fact that he's unapologetically divorced as well? Have any of these people supporting this guy even read C.S. Lewis? Do they even know who he was? Do they even have a clue what the Gospel is about?

And why "mere Chrisianity," however laudable, is incomplete.

SYDNEY, Asian religious leaders on Wednesday condemned the appointment by the U.S. Episcopal Church of its first openly gay bishop, warning that regional Anglican bishops might consider cutting ties with their American sister church. Warnings are only effective before the fact. They have fired on us. Now only action counts.

1 Samuel 4:21 And she called the boy Ichabod, saying, "The glory has departed from Israel," because the ark of God was taken and because of her father-in-law and her husband.

And why "mere Chrisianity," however laudable, is incomplete. Not really. This isn't even Christianity as these people clearly don't understand who Jesus Christ was. And I don't say that just because they support homosexuality but because by their very words it is so clear they don't know the Lord.

There has been a long and often close relationship between
the Anglican and Catholic Churches. In certain situations
there remains a mutual recognition of the validity of key
doctrines, liturgies, and practices. And the Catholic
Church continues to hold the faith and moral teachings as
taught by the Apostles.
I understand that there is also an
Anglican Use liturgy
within the Catholic Church, wherein the Book of Common Prayer
(with minor updates) is used for the Mass. So there is no need
to lose the liturgy Anglicans are familiar with.
This Mass is valid for all Catholics as well.

How in God's name can they Bishop's accept a direct denial of the Biblical teachings. Both old and new testaments, Genesis, Leviticus and in the new Romans identify the abomination and great sin that homosexual activity projects in the eyes of the Lord. They claim to follow the teachings of Jesus, I think not this is Satan that they are following. God have mercy on their souls.

"The bishops who stand before you are filled with sorrow," said Bishop Robert Duncan of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. He was standing there when he should have been walking out.

The queer-supporting bishops believe that God didn't make Adam and Eve but Adam and Steve and Amy and Eve to operate their churches and teach their religious beliefs. An example of satanic thinking.

For them the Bible is not true, it is sort-of-kinda-true-sometimes-maybe, thus it is a tiny step for them to embrace the common culture of homosexuality.
What puzzles me is why hold on to the trappings of a church at all...for the beauty of the buildings or the lovely music....??? what is the motivation.....?
I keep thinking of Lewis's last volume of his space trilogy....the corrupted language, the soft spoken gentle heresy.
