Baptists are Protestants

No, not really. Baptists were, at most, children of the Reformation. But they were not part of the original Reformation movements in the various European countries. In a modern sense, you might try to categorize them that way but it is an anachronistic view, a categorization that grants both too much and too little to Baptist distinctives.
