Mark Shay, a board member of the embattled Voyager Charter School, has announced that he will run independently as a Libertarian for Garnet Valley School Board in the Nov. 4 general election.
Shay will run against five incumbents -- Michael Hanlon, George Patti, Loretta Scuderi, Daniel Van Wyk and William Wilkinson -- who are cross-filed on the Democratic and Republican ballots. The five candidates who gain the most total votes will win seats on the school board.

The incumbents -- all Republicans -- have been spending money like drunk sailors for decades and are rubber stamps for the teachers and administration.
Shay -- basically a Republican -- wants a charter school. The teachers, of course, do not.
If memory serves, Shay lost the GOP primary last May. Anyway the only way he can get on the ballot is via a third party and that's what he's done.

That is absolutely right. As a rule I will now vote Libertarian for school board races.
