,,, a lighthouse thread! This has to be the height of romance. Back in 1997 I read a book called "Women who kept the light". It detailed the history of many US lake and coastal lighthouses and was a tribute to women who maintained lights thru very tough conditions, often after losing their husbands as they went for supplies.
Many of those women lived to very old ages, despite the challenges and tough routines they endured. If lighthouses are your sort of deal, that book is a must.

Hi shaggy eel! Last time I talked to you we were about to head off on our magnificent adventure down-under.
What a great time we had! My husband took this photo of a pretty lighthouse while we were down your way. This one is located in Sydney Harbor, called Hornby Lighthouse, I believe.
We will definitely be going back when we have more time and New Zealand is on our "must do" list. :-)
