Well, my first Freep, were we in for a surprise!! The book-signing was scheduled for 5:30 p.m., we arrived at 4, my son and myself, with our flags and signs. Nobody was there with any flags, just a lineup outside the bookstore that had maybe 100 people in line. We waited for some freepers and people began to read our signs, a few shouted at us, somme were decent and asked questions. WE had Freerepublic.com on the signs, also, which we told people who were asking questions. They were allowing people to go in by numbers when we came at 4:00, people told us she began at 4;, another Hillary LIE, she must have started early to avoid protesters. On the radio all day beforehand, the Lars Larson show, KXL radio, said that KXL would NOT send a reporter out to the site, because Hillary told the press SHE WOULD TAKE NO QUESTIONS from either the press or the public!!!!! At that time, a woman came out who had a book in her hand, she turned out to be Freeper Oceanperch, with her son in a wheelchair, she said she had been #2 to get book signed. She began taking pictures, which she will post late tonight or tomorrow, since she had a 100+ mile drive home to the coast. We finally saw some people across the street with signs and flags, so we went there, turned out NONE of them were Freepers, disappointed but told them all about website. Later one other Freeper came, layoutguru2, talked to him, as the hillary line was dissapating. I gave some young kids some flags, and told them as long as they didn't wave them upside down. They said they would not, but got behind us and did exactly that!!!!! Another man asked them to return the flags to me, since I bought them and give them to the kids in good faith, they refused. I asked them and they refused, I told an officer on a bike, he wouldn't do anything. One boy out of the 3 gave me one back, the others refused, and I told them I was going to send the pics to the news, altho they didn't care. One man I had given a flag to went across the street and waved it upside down and yelled bad Bush things, I yelled at him "thief", that didn't faze him. Then he yelled (across street where the linup was) that Bush killed people in Iraq, I yelled back "yes, but you dems kill BABIES" He shut up, no answer to that one. I was interviewd by Channel 6 KOIN news, but when we heard the broadcast in the car, they only had a woman talking about how wonderful Hillary is. Another radio staion was broadcasting live,KPAM they interviewed the leftists, I asked them why they wouldn't interview both sides!!! A man told me the radio guy would come and interview me, but he never did. It was very peaceful only 3 or 4 bike cops, but the Lars radio show said the Portland Police cost to protect her highness was $10,000 taxpayer money. I didn't see any leftist protesters, the Du site said the anarchists were planning on showing up. But no protesters, which shocked me. As it began to dribble to only a few people on both sides of the street, we decided to go, at 5:30, when the booksigning was SUPPOSED to have taken place,it was almost over!!!!! Besides the news bias, the small experience was enlightening, altho I was disappointed to not have met a few other local Freepers, it is sad that we couldn't have had a better showing. I have pictures, but I don't know how to post, if someone can mail me and post for me to this thread, if you want to see them????

You may want to read this to see a new technique Hillary is using. I think it's the anti bubba technique. He was always late and she is doing it early it would seem.

You exposed her as a liar and have revealed her craven avoidance technique.
She exposed herself as a coward by refusing to take questions--to a lot more than 100 people.
A schmuck who sneaks in and out without answering questions or telling the truth about the hours--oh, that's presidential not.

I sneak in and out ducking the eye contact

Don't be discouraged, oreolady ... just the thought of FReepers rattles Her Heinous, and she may have thrown many off balance with her change in schedule, but you and your son WERE there, and she knew it ...that makes for a most successful FReep ... seems you outsmarted the smartest woman in the world ... Congratulations!

One thing bothers me. Why on earth would a Freeper (i.e., Oceanperch) actually have a copy of Hitlery's pack of lies in her possession, ready to be signed? This would imply that she paid real money to buy the thing, thus aiding and abetting the evil cause of the PIAPS. I guess the only explanation is that you have to have a copy to get anywhere near the Thighs of Thunder at one of these things.

Rules for getting your book signed by her Highness:
1.) Do not look at Hillary. Man should never look directly upon God.
2.) Do not speak to Hillary. Her majesty cannot be overwhelmed by the vocals of the commoners.
3.) Do not ask for a special autograph from Hillary. She can't be bothered to direct her inept comments to you personally.
4.) Do not fawn over Hillary. She, like Oprah, understands you are there to pray to her greatness and you need not bow as much as you need to give her your credit card number.
5.) Do not, and I mean DO NOT, even think of bringing up how much you like her "husband" Bill. I'm serious.

Portland sycophantic media coverage of the 'Beaste's appearance:
Hillary Rodham Clinton -- former first lady, current U.S. senator and likely future presidential candidate -- received a rock-star reception Tuesday when she swept into Portland to promote her memoir, "Living History."
Dozens of fans camped out overnight in front of the downtown Borders Books & Music store to get a free ticket for the book signing. A popular groupie accessory: buttons that blared, "I'd vote for Hillary!"
So when she strode in shortly after 4 p.m. wearing a pantsuit and pearls, hands trembled, necks craned, smiles twitched with anticipation. The crowd broke into applause.
A middle-aged man in a madras shirt jumped up and down. A woman in a ponytail half-whispered: "Go, girl!" Clinton uncapped her felt-tip. Fans, snaking past the classical section and spilling into rock and pop, lurched toward the velvet rope.
"There is a celebrity thing about it," said Veronica Traverso, 32, of Portland, who snagged one of the last tickets Tuesday morning. "Maybe it's because her life was plastered across newspapers and TV and magazines. Because of the media, and because of history, politicians are becoming stars."
Traverso, like some fans who flocked to the bookstore, hadn't read the book.
But critics give "Living History" mixed reviews. Some say it lacks political insight or personal reflection. Others grouse that it doesn't dish enough about Bill. The consensus: It contains too much history and not enough living.
The book, however, is No. 2 on The New York Times bestseller list for hardcover nonfiction. Publisher Simon & Schuster reports that it has sold more than 1.2 million copies. Not exactly Harry Potter numbers, but enough to cover its $8.1 million advance.
And Clinton is plugging the book like a pro.
Portland was the 22nd stop on her promotional tour. All told, the junior senator from New York has signed more than 20,000 copies of "Living History" -- a pace that has prompted ice packs and a wrist brace between signings.
"I've had the best time at these events, I must confess," Clinton said in a brief telephone interview. "My only complaint is my right hand."
In about 90 minutes Tuesday, Clinton signed about 1,000 books. She takes an assembly-line approach.
A Borders employee would grab a book from a rack and pass it to Clinton's personal assistant, who would open it and slide it to Clinton. Clinton would lay down her tall, spindly script and pass the book to a volunteer, who would close it. Then it went to another Borders employee who would pass it to the owner.
Books went to dozens of men. But most went to women. One was actually a man in dress.
Clinton offered greetings -- "Hello! Thanks for coming!" -- and smiled and shook hands. She tickled a baby's foot, complimented a man on his "I Love New York" T-shirt and laughed a lot.
Jean Barnes got a guffaw when she informed the senator that she was an occupational therapist who might help with her hand. Then the 49-year-old Tigard resident told Clinton to call her when she ran for president. Not everyone was a fan. A handful of protesters sat outside the store. "We don't agree with her on health care, illegal aliens, Whitewater," said Joann Langley, 43, who came from Newport with her son, Chris. "But we're conservative. Even Bush isn't conservative enough for us."
Clinton is used to criticism. When asked why she didn't spill more beans on Bill and the Beltway, she said: "I drew an appropriate picture that I felt comfortable with."
This is what she does divulge:
Clinton grew up in a middle-class, Methodist, Midwestern family that was -- surprise -- Republican. At Wellesley College, she delivered the first student speech at graduation.
The speech, in which she defended her generation's protests about Vietnam, landed her in Life magazine. It also angered the college president so much that she ordered a security guard to steal Clinton's clothes after a postgraduation dip in the campus lake.
"The accolades and attacks turned out to be a preview of things to come," Clinton wrote. "I have never been as good or as bad as my most fervid supporters and opponents claimed."
Clinton tossed out tidbits about herself.
She does not, however, detail her reasons for staying married after the Monica Lewinsky scandal. She simply writes: "Although I was heartbroken and disappointed with Bill, my long hours alone made me admit to myself that I loved him."
For fan Bill Foust, that's enough.
"It sounds Victorian, I'm sure, but there are some things that are private," said the 58-year-old Portland accountant. "She has a certain dignity."
Carol Wheatley, 60, a retired Portland teacher, said Clinton has a lot more.
"She's the Eleanor Roosevelt of her time -- smart, strong, accomplished," Wheatley said. "That's why people like her. And that's why they don't."

OreoLady -- It was a pleasure meeting you and your son at the Hillary bash in Portland, yesterday! I'm sorry I couldn't get your flags back from those punk-ass Young Communists, but ... there are better reasons to get arrested!
Our contingent consisted of three people from an aol email group, myself and two wonderful sign-toting ladies. (I was the guy in the long-sleeved black "America" shirt).
Upon coming to visit the website, it turns out I had registered with FreeRepublic some years ago, but I had completely forgotten! Anyway, I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to spend part of an afternoon with some wonderful, like minded people who have the backbone to let their voices be heard.
