Bezos survived the .com bubble. I think the market disagrees with you.
I've worked with government publication ordering web sites. They cost more to develop, had about 1/1000th of the product to move, had fewer customers, and had outages that were measured in days.
Two points:
(1) Beezo is / was the dot com bubble. Amazon is either unprofitable or marginally profitable depending on whether you use GAAP or "pro forma" numbers / include the value of stock options or whatever. There is a decent chance that it can become profitable, but that does not make Amazon a well managed company with a sound business plan or indicate that Bezos has any magical abilities.
(2) You are correct that the market disagrees with me ... but that does not mean that I am wrong over the longer term. One lesson should have been obvious after the dot com bubble --- there may not be a "greater fool."
