My thoughts exactly, Okie. In all honesty, I have heard that Eisenhower was an absolute p***k to the "help" and I'm guessing that JFK and LBJ were not like carter and clinton, but from Nixon on, this trend seems to be intact. Main point being that carter and clinton are world class phonies - no real surprise there.
I've wondered about that, in more general terms. John Lennon sang "give poeace a chance" but beat his first wife. Ditto Jackson Browne and Darryl Hannah. Why is it that so many of these lefties seem to love "humanity" in the abstract, but are mean to the people around them?
People with new money, or political power but no money, have a chip on their shoulders. At their core they are insecure and feel like imposters. They think the way to fit in with the "rich" is to behave like the bastard child of Leona Helmsley and a 19th century robber baron, berating and insulting the help.
Little do they know that the mark of good breeding and comfort with one's station in life is to treat everyone you meet with respect. The Bush family knows this by instinct, and both father and son are renowned for their concern for the people who work for them.
I am teaching my children to greet even the lowliest of people by name, shake their hands and look them in the eye, listen to them when they speak, and inquire about their families and personal well-being. God forbid they should grow up to treat their employees like Hillary Clinton or other nasty white trash.
