this is not real. I did enjoy the article. I am in the National guard and when I am gone for summer camp I am out of the loop for 2 weeks, i have to be brought up to speed. He quote alot of current events. I know they do have internet access but i doubt the Marines would mess with such luxuries.And i those that do have net access im sure its just a few computers per company.

You'll never give up this one train of thought. I could post the letter my son just sent, hell I'll scan the envelope and all if you dont believe where it actually came from. He doesnt exactly write flowery letters of love and understanding, but he does speak the truth about what he see's and feel's.
As for the 6 who showed up on TV to complain, they are not in so much trouble as you might think, but their CO's might be for allowing the morale of their units to get to that point.

Well, as a point in fact, I came to Fort Hood in the early -70's and was assigned to Company C, 2/12 Cav, 1st Cav. When I changed my MOS from infantry to court reporter, I was reassigned from the 12th Cav to III Corps HQ. My senior sergeants, warrant officers, and officers were responsible for submitting briefs up the chain of command to the III Corps Command Group for determination of referrals of cases for courts-martial. We (and I use the royal "we", as I was still too junior to be involved in the nuts-and-bolts preparation of these briefs, although I did provide data input as requested) spent a lot of time that could have been better spent in the preparation of these briefs, only to have the Command Group pretty much ignore the data and blow off the recommendations, doing what they wanted to do anyway.

As a result, it soon became pretty common usage to refer to III Corps as "The 3rd Imperial Corps" ... something that I still use in conversation and something that I enjoy explaining to new JAG officers and NCOs, most of whom weren't even alive when the designation was more applicable than it is today.

It refers to the "Imperial" website where the blog letter was published. They use it as a joke because of how the left is always running on about "American imperialism," hence each person there has a title in their own little "Imperium."

I hope the author is for real too. I love these reports. They reinforce my belief that our military men and women are the cream of our society and the press is the dregs.
