Would it be fair to say that this trend is a side effect of sola scriptura?

No.

LOL! I believe He is coming too, so find another supposedly applicable derogatory proof text. I deny the Rapture the way you think it will happen according to YOPIOS, not the Second Coming.

So? Liberals always remove sections they don't like. I don't. I use the whole Bible.
REV. 22, 18-19:" For I testify unto every man that hearith the words of the prophacy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book (AID's?):And if any man shall take away from the words of the book ( ....will be taken up to meet the Lord in the air....without dieing.)of this prophacy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the Holy city, and from the things written in this book. "

I remove nothing. I add nothing. EVERY verse is relevant.

Sure Sink. You were oozing with contempt when we defended Santorum. You were branding us as wanting to lock up homos when we opposed the Lawrence decision.

Now you're oozing contempt and hatred because I'm pointing out the natural conclusions of your opposition to Santorum and support for SCOTUS' Lawrence decision.

I pollute this Forum? At least I do it from a Catholic perspective, if you see Catholic truth as pollution, that is.

What kind of persecution do you expect in the US, other than the misery of being surrounded by evil claiming holiness?

Are you expecting physical persecution? Sometimes I think "that's not possible here, under the laws we have", and then I remember, Nazi Germany wasn't possible under the German laws of 1930, and I'm not reassured at all.

Well, here's the problem.

Kennedy ruled in Lawrence that homosexuality has a transcendent right to respect.

Hate crime laws are just a step away from hate speech laws.

The Bible and the Catholic Church teach that homosexuality is an abnormal act undeserving of respect.

Thus the Bible, the Catholic Church and the SCOTUS are now in tension over who gets respect and who doesn't.

Based on proposed laws in Canada, Ireland and other members of EuroSocialistLand, preaching against respect for homosexuality is a stones throw away.

Personally, their Gay Outreach program and pedophile sodomites playing the role of Godly men is feeding most of this. They say one thing, yet now they condemn what they themselves have started. They allowed Satan to enter their Sanctuary.

I would like to refer anyone adept in using "search" to Gay Unions Split Liberals In Canada. It was a Toronto Star article posted yesterday. Anyway here are some interesting figures by polling from the notoriously left wing "free thinking" Star.

Back bench Members of Parliament polled thus: 36 against homosexual "marriage" and 15 for it. Back benchers are the minor players in the government. Overall poll and using cabinet ministers who are traditionally forced to vote with their masters, oops goverment. As follows: 36 against homosexual union. 32 for it, and 11 undecided.

We can see what a battle this will be. Our local back bench MP - a decent family man , surprisingly supports these unions. He had been given some strong suggestions of as to his chances of remaining elected though. He declares he will reflect the wishes of his constituents and vote against homosexual marriage . Bravo. What a battle this is going to be. The vicious behaviour of proponents using hate laws, must not slip by, as anything other than it is. They are the haters.

Those countries don't have the Bill of Rights. Do you think the First Amendment will be overturned? How do you foresee that happening?

John 14:1-3

Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

People of faith should prepare themselves for the coming inquisition.

People of (catholic) faith invented the Inquisition.

I'm not worried for myself. I settled all that on September 11th. I'm afraid for my country.

The First Amendment has already been overturned. The freedom to exercise religion is no longer a right but a privilege regulated by the state as to how, when and where you can do so.

Prayer in school? Verboten!

Prayer by football players before the game? Verboten!

Ten Commandment Displays at the Grand Canyon? Verboten!

One nation under God? The Ninth Circuit says verboten and actually forbid students from reciting same in California. (They since recanted that order.)

Displays of the Baby Jesus on Public Property during Christmas Season?

Verboten!

What were you saying?

Revelation 3:10

Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

(If your church is not being persecuted in the coming wave of hatred, flee that church. It is apostate.)

With over 60% of Americans opposing legitimization of fudgepacking you're hardly standing alone, let alone being persecuted.

Drop the victim routine, it's unbecoming.

I'm an agnostic, and I will fight homosexual marriage tooth and nail. While I oppose sodomy laws regarding adult, private, consensual acts, I more strongly oppose state approved "marriage" of homosexuals. If two adults of the same sex can marry, then two or more adults of any sex should be able to, as well as a man and his consenting sheep.

Were I a Canuck, I'd be at the Ontario or BC courthouse with ten friends in a flash. The slightest balk at issuing a license and I sue the pants off 'em.

It wouldn't affect Catholics if it was. That was one of the main dividing lines of the reformation.
