Why? Was the math wrong?

If you do everything you can to gather all the shooting with a particular load and then take only the torso hits, then study the aftermath and find out how many quit the fight after being hit, you can find out the percentage.

It could very well be the shooters of the gunfight used a 9MM because it was inexpensive to practice with, easy to carry and they were familiar with it. Their hits may have been all in the A zone.

I'm a firm believer in people using what they can hit with. If someone is more comfortable with a minor caliber because they can hit a one inch square across the room in a mili-second, that's what they should use. It beats the heavy caliber that became a gunsafe queen because the person isn't comfortable with it.

Shooter 2.5 makes an execellect point. No one ever died from a loud noise. You have to be able to hit what your shooting at.

I'm not a fan of the 9mm. I think it's an underpowered round. I much prefer my S&W 686 .357 w/ 4" barrel. But again, a more powerful round is not going to help you if you can't hit with it.

I haven't shot my Taurus 92 in years. I had a tip from a friend on how to clean up all the ammo I have. Instead of keeping them in the small plastic boxes, he uses the large .50 BMG ammo cans and then separates the different loads with plasic bags. Last week, I gathered up all my .357 brass, reloaded them and in a couple of days, I'm going to start on the 9MM stuff. I should be done next week. That should be enough for now. I don't have enough brass for the other calibers to worry about it. I think the most is 500 pieces of 45 Colt.

For the .38 brass, I'm not going to do a thing except store them. There's no need to load them because I don't own any revolver in .38.

I keep two .50 BMG cans full of .45 auto for storage and a smaller .223 can for carrying to the range.

Normally, I have a dedicated Dillon 550 for .45 Auto and another for .223.

How's that 92 working? I don't know too much about the Taurus models, never owned one.

It's getting time for another aquicision. I'd really like a Sig P220. A friend has a P236 (matted finish stainless steel no less) that's really nice.

Another friend suggested going the DAO route, but for that I'd just as soon get a Glock. Had a 20 (10mm) years ago. Wish I still had it, it never jammed. Only drawback was 10mm ammo is expensive and getting hard to find since the .40 took off.

What I like about it is the safety is on the frame like a 1911. I can't seem to get used to the slide mounted safeties.

What I don't like is the trigger slaps the pad of my finger when it resets. It's a little irritating.

I tried reloading with lead bullets and the lead was so soft the bullets were stripping past the rifling. At fifty feet, the group was eighteen inches high and one foot across. It was pretty funny.

Jacketed bullets solved the problem. I also think I could have used a hard cast bullet.

When I finish reloading a couple of hundred rounds, I'm going to test them with the 92. It'll be nice to use it again. The other 9MM's I have are a Luger and a Broomhandle. I won't test ammo with those.
