Correct. You can say things in a face to face meeting that you would never put in writing.

I may give President Bush the benefit of the doubt more often than I should - I don't really know - but without seeing a transcript of this meeting, I wouldn't leap to conclude that Jackson was the alpha dog in the room. People could save themselves a lot of angst if they would consider little things like, oh...the fact that they have no idea what was said.
