If this is going to be one of those South-bashing threads, then I will fire the first volley from the South -- we have better food, prettier girls, and a stronger sense of morality and values than the rest of the nation. Without the South, the US would be a values-nuetral, politically correct, authoritarian, socialist sludge pit.

And I'll second you on all of that! My point in this thread is not in any way to bash the south but rather to poke a little fun at one of the "conservative" movement's leading south bashers, Mackubin Owens. As these two articles show, not only is Owens' scholarship shoddy but it is also lazy and recycles its own material verbatim.
