Here are some comparisons:
Iraq 2003: 142 days of military operations
Huertgenwald 1944: 114 days of military operations
Iraq 2003: 150,000 troops committed
Huertgenwald 1944: 120,000 troops committed
Iraq 2003: 167 killed (I don't have wounded stats)
Huertgenwald 1944: 24,000 (that is correct- twenty-four THOUSAND) killed, wounded, captured or missing, plus another 9,000 removed for medical reasons
Iraq 2003: area 168,709(some compare it to the state of California)
Huertgenwald 1944: approximately 200 square miles (smaller than the average size of an Iowa county)
So here we are... witnessing AP, Reuers, AFP, Yahoo, Al Jizz, Howard Dean, half the 'rat base, 50% of the 1%ers, and so on, screaming about the mess we are in. What in God's name would these same people have said about operations in front of the Roer River? How can that kind of blatant, agenda-driven phony hysteria be tolerated by anyone of sound mind? I am not going to belittle any American soldier's death - indeed, that is why I am praying like never before - yet I am thankful that we have not seen 289 soldiers coming back in bags for 114 straight days... and all in a tiny little corner of just one of two major theatres of operations.
Amen, ed. Thank you for your contribution. The facts matter. Please keep sharing them with those sucked in by the 24/7 rat-'news'.
