Although owning guns is still "legal" in Canada, this is how they treat gun owners. This kind of garbage is going on all over the place. They are picking off gun owners one by one, laying ridiculous charges, doing warrantless search and seizures, busting down doors (sometimes the wrong house) and basically treating law abiding citizens like they are dangerous criminals. If this nonsense doesn't stop innocent people are going to get shot (by the police of course) at which time I'm sure they'll get off scott free. This type of behaviour by our police will eventually create a Waco. What recourse do our law abiding gun owners have?

The leftists and jihadists have turned a formerly pleasant country into Al Qanada. This needs to be reversed before it hits the point of no return.

Was this the local police or the OPP? THe reason I'm asking is becasue I know that the OPP rarely station oofficers local to their area. They are typically Toronto transplants that have the gun-hating ultra-liberal orthodoxy drilled into them before they even leave high school.

When people around here say that police would NEVER enforce draconian anti-gun laws, I think that they are whistling in the wind. Most police will do what they are told -- just like these were.

When guns are banned only criminals and the govt are left to savage honest people.
TAke away our guns at your own peril.

Was this the actions of caring police officers trained and sworn to protect our individual rights or a group of thugs out of control? Ask yourself, "What if it had been me or my Son or Daughter?"

They'd have to hire some new police officers.

The Norinco 7.62 steel cored rounds being sold at gun shows a few years ago are no respecters of Kevlar fabric.

A word to the wise on both sides.

What, exactly, was this person charged with? The article isn't really clear.

Yea, if he has to give police 24 hours notice before starting a job, he must have been charged with something. But the article doesn't say.

It must have something to do with hunting and the school.

There are more gun owners than policemen in Canada. And there is NO ONE more interested in protecting your rights than you.

I can imagine someone getting questioned for carrying a scoped rifle 300yds from a school, even during hunting season in Texas.

I find the whole "strip search in the driveway" a little odd; what purpose does this serve? Or are we to believe this was department procedure?

And of course the heart patient infant stretches credibility as well.

No doubt, Canadian gun owners have problems. I'm surprised Canadians are even allowed to hunt with firearms, registered or not.

You are correct. Below is an article with more information. Someone reported a man in camo with a rifle near the soccer game. But this guy got hosed royally. Welcome to the People's Republic of Canada.

'A terrifying and senseless ordeal'

A local cop in my town was quietly given the word to move on after pulling down the pants of a kid stopped on at the roadside on suspicion of pot posession.

Power-tripping is a common disease. Seems to be spread by contact with blue polyester.

He was eventually charged with improper storage of a firearm that they came across in his home AFTER he signed an agreement to allow them to search his home without warrant. The firearm in question had NOTHING to do with this incident.

While under arrest for non-existent offenses, thus making the arrest unlawful, he was placed on the ground, had a .223 caliber Ruger Mini 14 pointed at his head by a police officer and was hand-cuffed in a painful method.

What the hell would any real police officer be doing with a mini-14? That's a rifle more suited for varmint hunting than law enforcement. If they really wanted to use that caliber, why not an AR-15?
