A ridership survey conducted on behalf of Metro showed that in 2001, about 43 percent of MetroLink passengers and 70 percent of bus passengers were black.The state, county, and city are always trying to raise taxes to subsidize Metro and I do believe that taxes fund 3/4 of the cost so no big loss if a few trouble makers stop riding. Also it is believed that many riders on the light-rail aren't even buying a ticket.
It would be more attractive to ride if they'd do something about the panhandlers and the cursing on the train.
