"If it means we stop riding the buses and trains until we shut this thing down, that's what we're going to do," Vickers said.

About 44,000 passengers ride MetroLink daily; about 108,000 ride the buses. A ridership survey conducted on behalf of Metro showed that in 2001, about 43 percent of MetroLink passengers and 70 percent of bus passengers were black.

It's amazing how they continue to use upside down thinking.

I'm mad at whitey. I'll show you, I'll burn down my community.

I mad at whitey. I'll show you, I'll stop using my only means of transportation....
and so on and so on ..ad nauseum

The state, county, and city are always trying to raise taxes to subsidize Metro and I do believe that taxes fund 3/4 of the cost so no big loss if a few trouble makers stop riding. Also it is believed that many riders on the light-rail aren't even buying a ticket.

It would be more attractive to ride if they'd do something about the panhandlers and the cursing on the train.
