WASHINGTON (AP) - Internet service would be permanently free from taxes under a bill that advanced through a Senate Committee today.
The Senate Commerce Committee agreed to ban taxes on Internet service, along with two other types of Internet-specific taxes -- taxes that treat Internet purchases differently than other sales, and multiple-state taxation of a single product or service bought over the Internet.

What this means is e-commerce will continue to grow by leaps and bounds. You pay no sales tax for a purchase outside your home state. Yaaay!!!

What I read here is that you pay no tax for the internet service. You could still wind up paying for goods purchased over the internet.
