Bush has busy Crawford vacation schedule Updated: 7/30/2003 10:02:12 AM By: Associated Press Fundraisers will help will fill President Bush's schedule during his month-long working vacation at his ranch near Crawford. In August, Bush will mix public policy events with six fund-raisers -- in Colorado, California, Oregon, Washington and Minnesota. The practice allows the administration, in certain cases, to bill taxpayers for half the travel costs of the political activity. On Saturday Bush will leave Washington for his Crawford ranch. The president's campaign aides have talked of raising up to $200 million this year in preparation for his 2004 re-election bid. Copyright 2003 Associated Press, All rights reserved. Bush's favorite pasttime is to annoy, enfeeble, and entrap the liberal media. Sending them to swelter under the hot Texas sun in midsummer for a month will improve their attitudes when they get back to their air-conditioned Washington offices. Watch and see.
Also President Bush is WAY behind the Democrats on fund raising, and he has a highly competitive 12-way primary fight this spring. It won't be easy, and the general election fight will be far worse for Bush, but I think that the Republicans might possibly stand a chance of winning in 2004 if Bush really tries hard.
Anyway, he needs a break. Let's face it.

Also President Bush is WAY behind the Democrats on fund raising, and he has a highly competitive 12-way primary fight this spring. Huh? Bush has been scoring in fundraiser after fundraiser and has no competition that I know of for the nomination.
Anyway, I agree it'll be fun watching the media swelter in the Texas August heat trying to figure out what chicken fried steak is.
