Yeah, I am in full agreement with what you say, as well as with Novak's entire article.
My question is...why is the Bush administration so 'afraid' of Castro?
If the Bush folks are afraid of another 'Mariel exodus', then they should calmly do this:
- Establish contingency plans.
- Warn Cuba..If you send an exodus and we will consider this an action against our national security, and we will take down your government.
- We have the power to do this, and no one is going to stop us.
- We did it Panama, Greneda, and recently in Iraq.
END OF STORY, and our security will now be better enhanced.
There is no more threat from any Soviet Union, so no one is going to step in to protect Castro. PERIOD!!!
Why we fret over this so much, is beyond my comprehension.

Great insight, I think your analysis is right on the mark.
I wonder if we are developing contingency plans to liberate Cuba when El Maximo A$$hole dies. We should be prepared for this event and use the opportunity to finally rescue Cuba from the shackles of communism. Failure to act will only result in continued murder and poverty for Cubans.
