A disco in Sandefjord, Norway was fed up with 'sleazy old men' and started refusing entry to men older than 35.
«When men who look older than 35 approach the club we inform them that CatMan's is a disco for younger guests. This information makes most of them leave voluntarily, said the leader of the club, Kim Clausen. According to Clausen, the guests want to get rid of the men who are older than 35.
»On Thursdays the age limit is 18. 18-year-old girls look great and mature men know this«, said Clausen.
Clausen explains that young girls have been bothered by men who stare. As a result, mature men are refused entry at the club on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Men who are accompanied by younger girls are allowed in, however.
»In such cases it depends what the man is like«, said Clausen, who thinks the 'danger' is smaller if the man already has a girlfriend.
Another reason for the upper age limit is the though of protecting the girls from meeting 'daddy's drunken mates' on the town.
Women older than 35 are also excluded from the club.
