Vice is a descriptive for many of the failings we can be "trapped" or "squeezed" by! Not just gambling!
Gambling can be a vice if one is "trapped" by it. Time will tell us if Bennett has truly escaped it.

Bennett was not "trapped" into indulging in Vanity. He invested a great deal of time and energy into his sinning and will need an even greater investment to get out.
