Is Saddam Hussein in US spook (Intel) custody, being spirited to a secure location, or are we just really close?

Rumors are like conspiracy theories. Those that are talked about are rarely founded in reality, and those that are founded in reality are rarely talked about (until the press releases come out of an authoritative source, that is).

I'll wait until CentCom puts out a news release. Until such time, it's all just so much scuttlebutt.

Let's not post any more about Saddam until he is captured or confirmed dead — just for the heck of it.

I'd rather he just be dead in some grave somewhere...

we don't need no stinking trials...all that will cause will be demonstrations and terrorist retribution....

I like what Rummy said today.

"We won't know how close we are until we get him". "That is how it was with the sons."

This is true. I wonder, though, what effect rumors--any of
which could possibly be true--have on the enemy who reads.

All Saddam rumors should go on any of the 'Idi Amin is Dead' threads.

I believe it causes them to be more vigilant and stay closer to the ground. Now they know they cannot trust anyone.

It cannot be a good feeling. Rumor is that he sleeps with one of his explosive belts.

Maybe all they need to do is knock on the door and boom!

I believe Binn Hidin is Binn dead. He has not surfaced in ant credible way. The Afghan campaign is winding down and his remains may never be found.

Capture him but maintain plausable deniablity.

The next time a "big" tape is released, reveal the body

You know, I keep hearing on other boards that, "We shouldn't have killed Saddam's sons. They could have told us where the WMDs are."

I started thinking...

Well, if we already know where the WMDs are, we don't need them alive, do we?

We could have lobbed a bunch of incapacitation grenades and rendered the entire structure unconcious in about three to five seconds. He have snipers that can hit a nickle at almost a mile away.

We didn't need Saddam's hellspawn breathing because, I think, we already have all the data required; they couldn't have told us anything we don't already know.
