U.S. officials have confirmed claims by Iran that its military has deployed the new Shihab-3 long-range missile with the Islamic shock troops for the first time.
Iran's official Voice of the Islamic Republic Radio reported July 20 that the missiles were turned over to the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). Also supplied were Su-25 jet fighters and transport and attack helicopters.
The deployment represents a major advance in Iran's power projection since the country previously had only short-range missiles similar to 180-mile Scuds.
The Shihab-3 ballistic missile (Shihab in Farsi means meteor shooting star) is a road mobile medium-range missile with a range of up to 930 miles. It is believed capable of carrying a 2,200-pound warhead. The missile is based on the design of the North Korean Nodong missile.

Time for a regime change in Iran, before they put nukes on their missiles.

I agree 100%. These guys are a security threat to their own people as well as the region.
Good post. Any Idea where the intel comes from? Have you heard about Iranian opposition press releases about nuclear weapons programs? It sounds like the resistance has spies embedded deep inside the Islamic Republic.

There was an post earlier today that indicated Russia was prepared to "pre-empt" any nuclear action by North Korea due to fallout over Russian territory. No doubt they have they same concerns with Iran.
Also, isn't it Russia thats assisting Iran with their nuclear "power plants"?
Russia hasn't a thing to fear from Iran other than a "stop payment" on the next shipment of components. Iran has a lot to fear from Israel.
Israel...you have the "green light". Proceed when necessary! ;)

Yes, I saw the article about Russia being willing to pre-empt N. Korea's nuclear ambitions.
I think Russia relented on continuing to provide Iran with nuclear material.
Let's hope our success in Iraq was a lesson to Russia also: they can support us on Iraq, or suffer the consequences.
I hope we are clandestinely supporting the Irani students and people against the current Iranian government, which hopefully will be toppled soon.
