Helpful Hint: Patience. time will reveal all things. There are reasons it can't be done right now.

an admirable action but not worth a single American life, in my opinion. Here's where we really disagree. We've been over the Middle East (oil) barrel since the establishment of Israel, and especially since the embargo in '73. We've been manipulated by oil-rich Iranian Persians and Muslims in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Iran, etc. for far too long. No matter how you view it, the stand-off between Israel and the Arab world is insoluble by diplomatic means. I've watched administration after American administration skewered and mislead by double-dealing from both sides.
Bush understands the old maxim that "When you have them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow." We now occupy Afghanistan and Iraq. We have powerful military forces next to Pakistan, Iran, Syria and Turkey. Message received? We can decide to allow Caspian (Russian) oil to market by pipeline through Afghanistan or not -- how are you feeling today, Vladimir? Maybe that depends on how your competitors are feeling. It may just be that we've destroyed OPEC.
In the Third Millenium A.D. Realpolitik may have a new meaning.

Why is it so hard to admit that Bush lied about having "proof" of these WMD's?? Politicians lie all the time. Clinton said the same thing.
So....
Where are you going with this?

O'Reilly's usually out of the loop on all things Bush.
Great letter. Maybe he'll autograph one of his books or send you a no-spin zone doormat.

The rest of his country had been taken over by the Al-Queda (and that is just a representative name for a host of terrorist groups, working together). Sorry but there is just no credible evidence for this and Al-Queda was certainly not the major reason stated for this military effort. I listened (and believed) President Bush when he said that Saddam possessed WMD and that those weapons must be found and destroyed. This is a just and noble cause the protection of American citizens.

Good job ! O'Reilly is sounding more and more and MORE like a Dem, every day. He's NO Conservative and I'm not really sure why anyone ever thought he was one.
To: thtr
Whether anyone cares to admit it or not, President Bush has a serious problem if WMD are not found in Iraq. That is clearly an opinion.
Here's 50c...
Etc.

We cannot afford to risk American lives on bad information they are far too precious. Most specially, it appears, to muslim propagandists.
We can't afford to risk American lives on account of childish propaganda, either.

We do TOO know that Iraq was in possession of WMD. Why not ask the Kurds and the Iranians?
We could pull out of Japan or South Korea tomorrow and their type of government would remain in existence. They are strong, capitalistic countries - thanks to us.
When asked by the Phillipines, we left our facilites at Clark AFB and Subic Bay several years ago. They still have a democratic form of government.
The "fat contracts" you refer to are awarded to Bechtel and Halliburton because they are familiar with the middle east AND they are the only companies large enough and capable enough of handling such a huge undertaking.

After we find the WMD, maybe O'Reilly can be a recipient of the Free Republic Crow awards next year.
To: Bernard Marx
You might be right about the power we can now exert because of Afghanistan and Iraq. But negotiating any type of agreement to stop the Israeli / Palestinian conflict is a real shot in the dark. Our chances have perhaps improved from none to slim not enough, for my thinking, to risk American lives (not to mention my tax dollars).

Sir... I have no problem that you are Anti-Bush. I'm just stating that this is a CONSERVATIVE leaning site. It' is not an anti Republican site. Go back from where you came if you wish to cause trouble.
You have a right to your opinions, but calling Bush a LIAR is something most people who hang out here don't do too often.
We call the Clintons LIARS and the Demoncrats LIARS.

Of course Democrats don't want to acknowledge the significant benefits of this to the US and our national security.
