Your attitude is pretty much what the rest of the non-IT thinks. And as far as the rest of the world, they want to see our standard of living knocked down a peg a two. Face it, we are going to get little sympathy, don't expect it.

I hear that. NOW my parents are not bitching at me for not transfering to a 4-year university (instead of getting my ass out of the house and getting a job asap) to get a degree in programming.

As the saying goes, it depends on who's ox is getting gored. (where did that phrase come from?)When the jobs are reduced or lower paying, the hard-working successful people will just pay more in taxes to cover the others who can't catch up.
