This is weird and the Republicans look stupid because they can't do anything about it.

Methinks it is the dems who are looking stupid.

How can they look stupid? Powerlessness doesn't always equate with stupidity. If there was a way to solve this legally, I'm sure the Pubbies would've found it. But in the face of this...petulant cowardice, their hands are tied. For now. The voters in TX have some decisions to make.

They have a few bullets - and the dems will be damaged by it come election time.
There will be republican money pouring into the districts in question. Over and over again voters will be reminded that their rep chose to run away rather than vote on (choose a topic), etc.
While the dems are away, things can be talked about, things that the dems say are important to them.

Can't do anything about it????
Two words: Governor's Warrant.
Two requirements:
1-governor w/guts.
2-judge with guts.
Two possible outcomes:
1-NM honors Full faith
2-NM and TX fight, Fed steps in.
Ain't that the way it goes?

I'm with you. The Pubbies look impotent and the folks who vote Dem anyhow could care less and without redistricting, the current gerrymandering in the Dems favor will gauranteee Dem control regardless of the overall popular vote.
It is very screwy that the Dems can basically boycott their jobs if they don't like the way they know it will turn out. I suppose they could do this with any legislation that requires a certain quorum and I would not be suprised if it does not catch on elsewhere.
They are all about winning...damn the torpedoes and they whip our butts in every area except individual contributions.

This is weird and the Republicans look stupid because they can't do anything about it.Isn't that a sad truth.
The GOP is looking increasingly pathetic in light of all of the shennanigans the rats are perpetrating throughout the country.
Texas Republicans could just redistrict anyway and let the courts decide the legality.
But that would require balls.
