D.C. should have the right to raise taxes on their own citizens as much as they want I love the way he belives that D.C. has the right to raise taxes on "their own" citizens almost confers ownership of citizens by D.C.

So Mr "Fiscal Conservative" thinks government has "rights" ? Only a moron like him would think that closing DMV offices would save the state a lot of money.

Paying Taxes to Caesar
Out of Context. Jesus was merely trying to get the religious folk of the day to get their minds out of politics and back to God where it belongs. He was not giving Divine Permission for governments to tax people.

Allow me to amend my last post...
He was not giving Divine Permission for governments to tax people, but was addressing reality.

We apologize. Marky-Mark, our John Edwards wanna be Billionaire I-got-mine-so screw-you Governor of Virginia is a horrible embarrassment to our lovely Commonwealth.
It was a mistake. We regret it. Won't do it again.

I thought he was illustrating how a coin with caesar on it was not really something the hypocrites owned. It was caesars to begin with and was something that God didn't care about, caesar did. Money being the root of all evil and all. The trap of course was to get him to say no to paying taxes, to which they would have arrested him.
I don't think it applies to Warners comments however, he may be misunderstanding that verse as the "God given right" of governments to Tax as others have done.
