Thank you for the bump!
Word from Qatar last week:
"The clothing drive is continuing. In fact, the number of R&R military members arriving here daily is growing exponentially and is slated to last at least through December."
"Thanks so much for your support!!"
Thanks, 2J!

Regtime, several times in the past I have sent boxes of cigars to active duty SF soldiers through another Freeper's contacts and have gotten letters of appreciation in return. Do you think it would be appropriate to send (factory sealed) boxes of cigars to this effort?
I ordered them from JRCigar.com and then mailed them to the contact address who forwarded them to his active duty contacts. I'd rather go more direct, if this is an appropriate avenue....

1000 on the ground every day. They're still wearing PT uniforms for lack of better clothes. The PX has clothes, but is still really small and very crowded. DVD's and video games OR THE FUNDS TO BUY SOME would be helpful. There's been x-boxes donated, but nowhere to use them. The DVD collection is really sparce. DVD's benefit not only the R&R troops , but those stationed there. Due to security concerns, most troops (permanent and R&R) have to stay on base more than in the past.
Thanks to all who help.
