Sniper weapons should be restricted (California Freedom Grabbers)
San Jose Mercury News ^ | 7-28-03

A .50-caliber BMG sniper rifle, in the wrong hands, would be terrorism unleashed.

The gun is powerful enough to punch a hole in an oil tank or take down a civilian airplane. Its 5 1/2-inch long bullets can pierce an inch of armor 40 yards away and hit a target a mile away. A massive weapon, with some models weighing in at 28 pounds, it's ill-suited for hunters -- it would take out a deer and the tree behind it -- but ideal for assassins.

"Before then, perhaps there's room for compromise,

No, you pathetic Rights grabbing lib. We only compromised because we couldn't stop you when we didn't have the votes. You've lost the U.S. House, the U.S. Senate, the Presidency and now you're losing the states because of your tired attacks on our Rights.

The compromising days are over.

True. Just as a seat in the legislature, occupied by the wrong a$$, not only would be, but IS terrorism unleashed.

(We know; we feel its effects daily.)

What mental giants these are. A 5 1/2 inch long bullet would be an artillery round. If I remember right, the bullet is about 1 inch long, 1/2 inch "thick". The whole cartridge might be 5 1/2 inches. Both my inline and traditional muzzle loaders are .50 caliber. I bet the deer want them banned as sniper rifles...

I love the fact we finally are getting the votes we need.

There are still hot spots like California but we are winning. The CCW laws have ended the handgun bans that were so popular twenty years ago. As long as we continue this trend, gun control will look like the Volstead Act.

and it doesn't even need bullets !! the gun can punch holes all by itself, hey I got a Makita cordless drill that can punch holes in stuff too (with the right hole saw attached I could liberate the hot air trapped in a lib gun grabbers cranium although it would be quite messy)...oh the humanity...

"It's an 88 Magnum. It shoots through schools."

LOL, I love that one! I'm trying to remember the movie that's from.

Another favorite movie moment is when the Joker pulls out a folding revolver and shots down the bat plane. The recoil almost knocks him down.

Many, many thanks for posting this. Truly worth a thousand yards, errrrrrrrr, words I mean. You should see some of the looks I get when I wear this T-shirt in public, particularly to the kid's school events. One of these days I'm gonna have to learn how to post pics on the FR.

dts32041, freepmail me and I'll send you the contact info for the source of these shirts.

Is the source possibly Serbu? (It's their rifle on it, so I'm guessing.)

It's none of your f'n business why. Last I checked, we were innocent until proven guilty.

Ah, but you would be guilty of wanting a weapon that has no other purpose than shooting holes in armored limosine's that our elected masters, uh, officials like to travel in.

(of course, I am joking about the "no other purpose" bit)

How about the liberal morons on the Mercury News' editorial board have the burden to explain why they should have freedom of the press rather than have the government bear it to justify restricting the existence of a free press.

Same case could be made (in the same state) for the combination of Buicks, old drivers, and farmers' markets.

To liberals we don't really have rights per se, we have privileges that can be extended and withdrawn from us at the sufferance of the government they worship.
