We can all hope it just decays until the joyful decision to keep it in the US or let it move to their beloved Belgium (where I lived for a yr) or Spain or Germany.
(excerpt)
Declares that the United Nations, in pursuance of the principles and purposes set forth in the Charter concerning the promotion of co-operation between peoples and the maintenance of international peace and security, proclaims the following principles of international co-operation in the detection, arrest, extradition and punishment of persons guilty of war crimes and crimes against humanity:
1. War crimes and crimes against humanity, wherever they are committed, shall be subject to investigation and the persons against whom there is evidence that they have committed such crimes shall be subject to tracing, arrest, trial and, if found guilty, to punishment.
2. Every State has the right to try its own nationals for war crimes against humanity.
This is the usual 'pap'; these terms are not only not accurately defined, they are subject to redefinition at the convenience of the legislative body. [look at what Amnesty International defines as 'crimes against humanity' compared to what you and I consider such violations.]
The strength of the 'law' in the U.S. is the Constitution, which sets inviolable standards [although our own courts and legislatures now ignore that authority.]
***Every State has the right to try its own nationals for war crimes against humanity.***
Another meaningless statement; to say that they 'have the right to try...' is not the same as saying they have the exclusive and sole right and obligation to prosecute...
The trouble with 'law' since the beginning of time is enforcement; right now there is no mechanism for enforcement of 'international laws and standards'... when there is these issues will become pressing... and we know that the enforcement organs will be known as 'the Beast!
These are the lessons of Babel.
FReegards...
I saw a setup for this global policing - I'll give you the sequence of events, all recently in 2003 (step 1 started pre-2003):
1. post 9/11 - the US started a diplomatic initiative for int'l support from the Int'l Labour Org (ILO) for securing an int'l identity document for all 1.2 million seafarer workers around the world. (no card, no work)
2. May 15 - Nature journal published a study that 90% of the world's large game fish were gone (overfished). (we never heard previous reports that 30% were gone, or 50%, just all of a sudden 90%.)
3. May 15 - National Geographic and every other news org on the face of the planet took that story and re-published it, plastering it all over the world (CNN, Science a Go Go, you name it). (Funny how they got it and had time to publish it in their magazines on the same day. I say they were all pre-fed the propaganda.)
4. June 3 - the ILO started negotiations on the global biometric seafarers card - to be enforced through the Int'l Court of Justice, Int'l Tribunal of the Sea, and the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea
5. June 1-3 - The G8 summit produced the "Marine Environment and Tanker Safety" Action Plan:
"Global sustainable development and poverty reduction requires healthier and more sustainably managed oceans and seas...There is growing pressure on the marine environment. ..."
"By acting in accordance with the relevant United Nations Conventions, we will work towards sustainable fisheries and marine conservation. Specifically, we commit to:
"The ratification or acceding to and implementations of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, which provides the overall legal framework for oceans;....for the management of human activities in order to protect oceans and seas and their resources..."
6. June 22 - The ILO adopted a global accord to create and require the global biometric id card for all the world's seafarer workers.
----------------------------------------
btw, the US is a member of the ILO, is one of the 8 in the G8, was behind the push for the seafarer card, and is on the Int'l Court of Justice. Note the convenient timing of the alarmist media blitz stories that 90% of the world's fish are gone! Just in time for the ILO and the G8 to come up w/global policies that lead to global police forces for our oceans. The only step that's missing is the final one, where there is an overtly named ocean police - UN enforcers of all of these global agreements and action plans and mandatory biometric cards.
Sound Orwellian? It's HERE TODAY PEOPLE. WAKE UP!
Well, as I say, Bets: the U.N. may enforce, but the U.S. is expected to pay for it. Look at the Balkans fiasco: the Europeans claimed genocide was being committed by the Serbs... but somehow they just couldn't get up enough money and troops to stop it... let the United States do it!
...and we did...
Rep. Ron Paul (R, TX) proposed just a few weeks ago a bill to withdraw the United States from the United Nations. No one acted upon it.
What am I to do in Florida? Both my Senators are Marxist traitors who will sell us out at the drop of a hat. Free Republic Florida campaigned for Bill McCollum to win that last Senate race, but the problem is that McCollum didn't campaign, and Bill Nelson [a Christian-hater] won the seat.
What do you propose that I do?
