I have been to that cemetary in Scotland 40 years ago. Now I have a Jack Russel Terrier that looks just like Grey Friars Bobbie. Bobo is one of the long haired short legged ones, the cutest of all. Bobo has cancer & is very near the end. It is killing me to know that one day *very* soon we will take that last ride to the vet's office.

I'm still grieving over the loss of my beloved Cubby. He died last January. That's when life's a bitch...when you lose your buddy.

I lost my beloved Bichon, Sophie, to a long series of serious bouts with bladder stones, and final fatal anemia from all the meds she had taken. She was 10 years old.

In May, finally I felt ready to start searching Petfinder.Org for a bichon to adopt. I thought I would honor Sophie's memory by adopting a dog in need of a home rather than by purchasing another puppy from a breeder. Surprisingly, I found the perfect match for me almost right away on the site. I contacted the shelter and went to see him that weekend. He had not been adopted sooner because he was totally unhousetrained due to having been kept in a cage in his former owner's garage for the first year and a half of his life.

I brought Max home, and he achieved housetraining within a couple of weeks once I figured out how to work WITH his problems rather than against them (taking him into the garage where he was willing to eliminate initially due to his history, then taking him onto the deck to go, until finally he got the idea to go in the yard on the grass.

I love him so much now. When I initially saw him in the shelter, he had been shaved down, he looked "odd" to me, and he didn't pay much attention to me. I wondered if taking him was the right thing to do, but it was!

Perhaps when your beloved Bobo has gone, you too, at some point will consider taking a look at Petfinder.Org. I am so glad I did, and so is one happy little dog, my Max.
