Man is the only animal that experiences emotions. And, yes, I am an animal lover and have a dog, 5 birds, assorted fish and an occasional frog that my son might bring home.

an occasional frog that my son might bring home. Spend less time with the 'occasional frog' and more time with the other pets.

Your reply may be factual.
It may be completely reasonable and enlightened~
But is oh so annoying!
Why would you pick this particular thread to EDUCATE others?
Spare me the FR is a discussion board comments...
Yes, of course you have the right.
Just not the timing!
Yes, I also have many animals, some children and some feelings! (unlike my pets and you maybe)

Man is not the only animal that experiences emotions - if you base your conclusion on neuroanatomy and observation of animals.
Dogs have Amygdalas and they have limbic systems. They produce the same brain chemicals humans do that create emotional attachments.
They do not have the intellect of man, or even the same level of consciousness as humans; but emotions, dogs have.

Then explain the behavior that your dog exhibits when you come home from work? Or the behavior he exhibits when you are scolding him - is not fear an emotion?
