Riots now would probably have a substantial effect on the California recall election coming up.

That and the fact that last time's TV warranty has run out...it's replacement time.

Treat US rioters (i.e. folks with a lot of free time and no political agenda) exactly the way we would treat such peace disturbers in Iraq.

Are the liquor stores in LA locking up or just setting their stock on the sidewalk?

No only that, there's no money in the budget to pay for police overtime.
So when the shift is up, watch out!

Time for a Los Angeles fro down!

I hope that some sense prevails in this matter.
The fact is that the procecuters over-reached on the charges and the jury did not/could not convict.

Has there been any appeal from the Black leadership in LA to their own people to stay calm and avoid violence? Why cant blacks police their own people out there? Why is the job left to the Police department to stand guard against illegal behavior when everyone knows it would be wrong before it starts?

Well, the Korean small business owners are taking their positions on the roofs.

That was my response on another forum - "load up your mags and stake out your fields of fire. I guarantee the Korean store owners are".

Los Angeles police were put on tactical alert as jurors prepared to announce their verdict in a potentially explosive trial of two white cops accused in the beating of a black youth. ...alleged incident of police brutality that outraged the city's black population...
Morse was captured on amateur video in July last year as he slammed handcuffed black teenager Donovan Jackson onto the boot (trunk) of a patrol car...
...after four white policemen were acquitted of beating black motorist King 14 months earlier.
Wow... two race-baiting articles in a row. Maybe the media should accept some liability if riots occur. Of course they won't, they just want the ratings as America tunes in to watch...

We're mad and we're going to get a free TV out of it! A friend of mine lived about a hour outside of L.A. during the Rodney King riots, and she heard her next door neighbors - a family of about 12 - calmy discuss going down there to do some looting. She didn't call the police. ...I probably would have.
