Maybe but "we" have ourselves to blame in many ways. Investors want to see their portfolios increase without understanding that profits are a key determinent to such an event. How do companies make profit? Cut costs even if it means labor. What do consumers like to buy? Cheap goods and services. How do we get things so cheaply? Cheap labor.

I could go on about the tax practices that take away money from working people and those who strive to be successful in favor or ne'er do wells, immigrants and deadbeats but that is an issue for a different thread.
