Didn't the Liberal party go belly-up recently? Or am I thinking of something else?

Right, they failed to get enough votes to earn a line on the ballot.

You are right, except that when people get voter-registration forms, it still says Liberal Party and Right to Life Party, with little boxes to be checked off if the person chooses to join those parties.

Those are extinct parties in the sense that they don't have the rights of the other parties--to hold primaries, to circulate petitions during the main petition-circulating period, etc., but they are still there on the form, possibly keeping right-to-lifers from, for example, joining the Conservative Party instead.
