A microphone had been left on during the closed meeting Monday, and the conversation was transmitted to about 500 "squawk boxes" that enable staff members, lobbyists and reporters to listen in on legislative meetings. Although there are no tax hikes included in the proposed budget,

Nonsense and doubletalk...Accepting a tripling of the car tax is a tax hike... unless you're Alice and have slipped down the rabbit hole and believe up is down.

Maintains all 34 optional benefits available to Medi-Cal clients.

I bet the parasites get more health care procedures paid for them than working people who have to pay into a plan via payroll deductions.

"Socialists will eventually run out of other people's money." (Margaret Thatcher)

CA Socialists have already done so, but they will never stop sticking their noses into everyone's private business enterprise. The people who put up with this incursive oppression, have no one to blame but themselves!!!

Exactly. And there are no spending cuts or even a spending freeze but there is lots of massive borrowing. Shame on Jim Brulte for foisting this brazen fraud on the people of California!
