Posted on 07/28/2003 6:57:33 AM PDT by Lunatic Fringe

What is it about rock stars and Sheperd Smith,

Don't forget Hitlery's driver. ;-)

What about the members of the 1910 Fruitgum Company? (Insert any other 60's one hit wonder with a psychadelic name here.)

Don't worry, Dead - they are OK, or at least they were in the 80s when they got back together, re-recorded their hit for K-Tel, and went on a reunion tour... ;0)

Anybody under the age of 40 has no idea what you are talking about (but I do!).

Sigh. How many times do I have to tell you folks:
Blue Swede=Hooked on a Feeling (ooga-chaka ooga-chaka)
Blue Cheer=Summertime Blues (Sometimes I wonder, what I'ma gonna do)

Now lay off the brown acid.

I’m showing my age. I thought the title refereed to Madam Chiang Kaishek or a member of her entourage.

Boy, should I have known better or what?!? You are, of course, quite correct - and I hadn't had my coffee yet. Yeah, that's it, I'll "blame" it on lack of coffee...

1910 Fruitgum Company

Like, wow man. You dug for that one 8-) How about another group that's a fruit combined with a common household appliance? Wasn't there another one besides "Strawberry Alarmclock"?

My classic 8-track-mutilated song was "Ramble On." Everytime I hear it I expect it to fade out half way through.

Well, Vanilla Fudge comes directly to mind, and in my home fudge is considered a household item. Vanilla is a bean, though, and not a fruit, so it may not qualify.

There were the Electric Prunes, however. They had a hit with one of the best psychedelic rock songs ever - I Had Too Much to Dream (Last Night).

LOL! Thanks for the laugh. That's the group and song I was thinking of.

Between browsing that and FreeRepublic, is it any wonder I'm not getting my work done?
