Only a small percentage of southerners owned slaves. This whole article is based in fantasy.
Why did you post it?
Slave ownership devolved on 50% of whites in MS, LA and SC, and on 1/3 of whites in the other so-called seceded states. There were more slave owners in the south than there were real property owners in the north. More people by percentage in the south owned slaves than owned stocks in 1950's America.

During WWII, only a small percentage of Germans gassed Jews, but all Germans soldiers were fighting for a regime that did so as a matter of policy.
