Private Lynch earned her Bronze Star in her own right.How, exactly? Anybody could be in a vehicle accident and get captured. I'm not saying she did anything wrong, but what did she do that any other soldier would not have done?

I have mixed feelings about a lot of this, but it's the press (and some of the over-the-top comments from observers and pundits, like the suggestion that she be awarded the Medal of Honor) I take issue with - not Pfc. Lynch.

The Bronze Star, with a "V" for valor is nothing more than a Commendation Ribbon, with medal pendant.
Sounds to me that Walters should have gotten the "V".

How exactly did she do this? Should every G.I. who has a car accident be given the Bronze Star? Absurd.
