The writer is both an African-American (though he seems to loath that PC contorted designation) and a Southerner. His take on the long career of Strom Thurmond. Definitely different and worth reading.

From the read, I have to admit that shocked me a bit, but a good read overall

Strom Thurmond should be remembered as the last major politician who would dare say in public that the American people on the local, state and municipal level can and should handle their own internal business

Even from the 'conservative' party, too true
