[history]
SACRAMENTO - As soon as he becomes governor, veteran Republican state Sen. Tom McClintock vows he would slash the vehicle license fee by two-thirds.
McClintock is already championing two measures to abolish the car tax, which is set to triple beginning in October, or reduce it to $1 a year. This is the latest anti-tax crusade for the conservative lawmaker, who now wants to take his message of limited government to the governor's office.

"He's got my vote."
Necessary, but not sufficient.
Send him a check, today.
He's the right candidate at the right time, and deserves unstinting support.

Assemblyman Fred Keeley, D-Boulder Creek. ``The good news about Tom, though, is that he is a conservative who has thought deeply for a long time about conservative philosophy and values.'' Even the Democrates know he's a great candidate, why doesn't your local papers? Let them know.
Tom brilliantly laid out the budget in this op-ed
Here is his website Tom McClintock
and here is the grass roots website, Draft Tom which has an amazing bio of Tom and how he got into politics. He is FR and conservatism's man in CA;

Good grief! I like Issa and I like McClintock. I hope they can work out something where the Republicans won't shoot themselves in the foot and mouth again.

That evangelistic fervor has endeared McClintock to conservatives
Cute choice of words. Definitely used as a negative connotation.
To: Saundra Duffy
Well Saundra, the advantages McClintock has are experience and no baggage. McClintock has also laid out his plan to balance the budget.

``I think Tom is very out of the mainstream of California politics and therefore would not be a good governor,'' said former Assemblyman Fred Keeley, D-Boulder Creek. If this is the worst they can say about McClintock then he's in good shape.
