[history]
July 25, 2003 -- ONE of the City Hall assassin's former lovers said he saw no warning of Othniel Askew's homicidal rage.
The lover, a 36-year-old Brooklyn man who agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity, said, "It's amazing because, he seemed so damn calm."

Considering Askew attacked a former lover with a hammer I would say there certainly was evidence of a violent nature.....no?

This is the first I heard of this guy being a homosexual.
This is especially ironic because here in San Francisco, this incident in NYC City Hall has dredged up the memory of the assassination of Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk, the first martyr of the gay rights movement.
Now, look how far gays have come. Instead of being the targets, now they can be the assassins.
Let me qualify that last statement...they can be assassins with guns. For nearly a quarter decade, gays have been assassins using the HIV virus as a murder instrument, and apparently Askew was in that number, too.

An example of gay-on-straight crime? Another senseless murder precipitated by a "high protein" diet.

The man said Askew never discussed his political problems with Davis, or even hinted that the councilman was allegedly blackmailing him to drop out of the Democratic primary by threatening to out him. DEMOCRAT What do you think when it comes to homosexual intrigue and duplicity.

When are we going to see Askew referred to in the press as a 'gay black Democrat'?
It's a rhetorical question.

This is not the first time I'm writing about the man who says he's Askew's lover. Am I the only one who thinks this is an odd sentence?

Ha ha - that's right! On this week's episode of "Queer Mortuary" we'll let our faggoty and otherwise superior root-licking casket dressers turn an otherwise drab funeral into a hip, happening event! Stay tuned for another in your face episode - ha ha.

"It's a real nice apartment a duplex," the lover said. What possible bearing could this quote have on the story? Why is it here? Not enough fluff in the story already?
