You probably agree with Drudge's reaction: STUNT (on his site now). I don't agree; I think Savage is serious. He may decide not to go forward, but I really believe he's taking a serious look.
There is a lot of bad blood between these two, and it's too bad, because they agree on most things.
I personally think Savage has a real shot because:
- it's a non-November election (light turnout)
- nobody is dealing with the illegals problem.
- he may bring millions of previous non-voters out of the woodwork who would crawl over broken glass to pull the lever for him.
- the recall is structure as an up-or-down for Davis, but Davis can't run as his own replacement. I think CA will oust Davis, even if Davis plays on fears of Savage, and pick a darkhorse candidate out of a crowded replacement field. Even if the LAT and SF Chronicle have polls in their hands showing Savage winning 2-1, they won't publish them. So Savage will be written off and "sneak" in, a la Jesse Ventura (same scenario, certainly not the same politics).

Smells like a stunt from here. But I'm not much of a Savage fan.

Drudge just took Michael Savage off his website altogether.
