"..Lots of other prominent Catholics were there, such as columnist and speechwriter Peggy Noonan, herself a convert,,,"
Is Peggy Noonan really a convert? Can anyone confirm this? I can find no reference to her conversion on the web."
Peggy is an Irish Catholic, born and raised. She did say she converted..... from a Liberal Dem to a Conservative during Ronald Reagan's first term
This thread was is OPUS DEI which has been mentioned as a great influence on Pope John Paul II and constituted his closest advisors and inner circle. The Pope was the personal patron of OPUS DEI.
Will this affect the choiuce of the new Pope?
Reading up on Judge Roberts, and came across a mention that his wife and Judge Bork's wife are in the John Carroll Society.

"Monsignor Vaghi serves as the chaplain of the John Carroll Society, a 51-year-old Washington-based charitable and social organization. Judge Roberts's wife is a member of the board of governors, as is Mary Ellen Bork, the wife of Judge Robert H. Bork, whose nomination to the Supreme Court was bitterly opposed by Democrats and failed in 1987."
SO - that got me wondering, if Bork's wife is Catholic, he probably is as well. But I had never heard that he is Catholic. I did a yahoo search on "bork" and "Catholic" - and guss what the first article to come up was? This FreeRepublic thread about Bork becoming Catholic. I never knew.
FR is just so cool!
Boy, you just never know who is Catholic. This week I found out that both Bob Newhart & Judge Bork are Catholics!
He won't be "borked" by Saint Peter.
