Makes no sense to me. The absolutist position on abortion is hurting the party. All they would have to do is be for modest compromises such as parential notification, a waiting period, a ban on partial birth abortion and Democrats would pick up some votes. If they dropped the gun issue as well, Republicans would be in real trouble. Those two issues, more than any, stop them from creating the cradle to grave welfare state they want.

The abortion question will be more successful in lessening abortion if left as a moral problem of conscience rather than trying to criminalize it.

The Democrat Party is very tolerant...of people that exactly agree with them...and everyone else to them is a fascist who wants to kill the children...and old people...and puppies.
