Live news conference

| Kevin Shelly
Posted on 07/23/2003 6:44:30 PM PDT by Amerigomag
California Secretary of State, Kevin Shelly (D), has just certified the recall election and will accept the candidacy papers of people seeking to replace Davis.
Shelly's position is that since the governor's office will not be vacant if the recall is successful, their will be a second ballot for his replacement. Shelly acknowledges that his position is at odds with Bustamante's and has informed Bustamante of their disqagreement.
Again Shelly has certified the recall and will accept candidacy papers from all comers to replace Davis.

Said Booze Crustamante: "Doh!"
To: Amerigomag
Bustamante has said that he will call for a special recall election, but not an election for successor. He believes that if Davis is recalled, he is the new Governor.

Not that I am aware of. But Bozo Bustamante has already been usurped by Shelly. Shelly will let all comers on the ballot. Things are HOT in Sacramento tonight!
To: Enterprise
not hot enough, those dems who were plotting to delay the budget should have their butts recalled also

He believes that if Davis is recalled, he is the new Governor. Two big problems for Bustamante.
Shelly is the state's chief elections officer and Shelly says Bustamante is wrong.
During the same newscast, after Shelly concluded his remarks, the local reporter on the scene, advised that a large group of DEMOCRATS who had gather outside the news conference cheered, yes cheered, when Shelly made the announcement and their spokesman advised the reporter that there would be a Democrat on the ballot. They were not going to let the Rpublicans take over without a fight.

We are about to witness a plethora of dastardly deeds perpetrated against the People of the State of California. Pay attention!

I'm just glad someone left the microphone on. But consider this. McAwful had said that there would be no Democrats on the ballot. Shelly has announced that he will take all comers. I am betting now that the fat's in the fire, that some RAT somewhere will not be able to restrain itself. The open mike incident can be a powerful anti-RAT weapon in the coming political battle. I will engage in a bit of hyperbole here - it was the hand of God!
To: Enterprise
MacAwful was lying. It's okay to lie in politics because they think we don't remember. Besides we can't vote him out of office. The dems will select someone and I hope the repubs will too, but I doubt it.

No, no, no, that was Argentina Vs. Germany in the World Cup, 1986!
To: breakem
Well, Bustamante's first move will be to go crying to the courts. I think the courts will back Shelly, (and with great relief I might add.) The problem next, is - which RAT wants to commit politicide and put their name on the ballot? If they succeed and make it to Governor, all is well, But if the fail, they might as well switch parties because they will be persona non grata.

HA HA!! Are you sure it wasn't the "Miracle on Ice" when the U.S. beat the Soviets in Ice Hockey at the Olympics?
To: Enterprise
I think the top dems and repubs will get together respectively and select one candidate each. The gov will have to bend to the other top pols (J. Brown, W Brown, Burton, and other)in his party and it will be okay for the annointed one to be on the ballot.

The Democrats would be absolutely STUPID not to have a candidate on the ballot. This actually gives them two chances. The first chance is in case the majority votes to recall Davis. The second chance is for the voters to put another RAT in Davis' place.

BoostaMonte was just interviewed by Mark Williams on KFBK and repeatedly denied that he had any standing to do anything other than to choose an special election date in the 60 to 80 day window from today! Said he never said any of that other stuff about two seperate elections that's been in all the news. I don't believe him, but that's what I heard him say twice!

He is going to let the elections commission make the call so he can distance himself from a call that would name him the successor. The commission is infested with Dems.
What isn't?
