I think the point that is valid is that fewer perps would ~try~ to go into a public place shooting if they thought everyone in the room might be armed. It is the psychology of 'gun free zones'

I agree, although I don't think that would have made a difference with this particular crime.

You never know.... Because the relatively gun free nature of the city is the psychology.... it changes the whole scene in the mind of anyone with criminal intent.
