This is not intended to be a racist comment in any way, but as soon as I hear about a Brooklyn councilman named "James Davis" I automatically assume he is black. His fellow Brooklyn council member Marty Moskowitz, on the other hand, is probably as white as Elmer's Glue.I'm not disputing what you say - I think we all make assumptions based on these kinds of things. But, I've also known white guys named Willie Davis, and Charleston, SC (of all places) had/still has(?) a black police chief named Rueben Greenberg! Go figure...
I know two men named "James Davis." They're both white. I don't know how one can assume James Davis is a name for a black man. It's quite a leap.
