They did have some prototypes already started. The assembly plant was overrun by allied troops. I've got pictures in some book on the Luftwaffe of the fuselage on the assembly line

That close from history being a lot different. Interesting. Also, I do see a slight resemblance between the plane who showed and a B-2 bomber.

What ticks me off is the very rare ( the only) Ju-388 like the type built at Schonefeld
is disassembled in storage at the Smithstonian, because they don't have "enough room".
They should at least loan it to a museum that has room so it can be displayed.
