In Back to Basics for the Republican Party author Michael Zak (FR's distinguished patriot, Grand Old Partisian) undertakes the heroic and herculean task of clearing the name of the Republican Party from the thicket of lies, distortions and misrepresentations which has been cultivated by the Democrat/media alliance.

Do you include anything about the republicans clamoring for disunion/secession from the South before the war? Anyhing at all where Garrison et al call the Constitution a compact with the devil? Or that it was a covenant with death and agreement with hell?

Just wondering.

"Every Confederate was a Democrat."

Prove it. That's like saying every Yankee was a Republican. Wrong on both counts. My great-great grandfather was a Confederate cavalryman with Nathan Bedford Forrest, and he (my g-g grandad) was not a Democrat; he was a-political. He was a German immigrant who, like many other Southern troops, fought because his home was invaded. That's the only reason. He never owned a slave and didn't care a spit about politics; and, like most other Southern troops, he wanted only to be free to raise and provide for his family. If my home were invaded, I would do the same thing, and I wouldn't care one way or another what the invader's political beliefs were.
